Blizzard have delayed the launch of their free-to-play mobile and PC fantasy RPG Diablo Immortal due to different technical reasons.

They’ve come up with a new message on the Chinese Diablo website, informing all players of the reasons behind the delay:

“We are sorry to inform you that Diablo: Immortal’s scheduled launch on June 23rd will be delayed. The development team is working on a number of optimizations to the game—greater device support for a wider range of models, maximum graphics quality on more models, a number of experience, network and performance optimizations, and more.

We believe that the game experience will be smoother in the official launch version, bringing you better game content.”

Blizzard is yet to give us a new release date for Diablo Immortal in China, though they’ve said we can expect some rare items once the game finally arrives.

Meanwhile, they’ve stated they are not planning to release the game in the Netherlands and Belgium because of the loot box laws that prevent them from doing so. Although China has no such laws in place, the reason for the delay could be something similar.

In any case, we will keep you updated once we have more information.
