Flashback 2, a sequel to the iconic Flashback from 1992, now has a brand new trailer, and it’s coming to PC and the consoles later this year.

The description reads as follows:

“Conrad is back! 30 years after Flashback, Paul Cuisset’s mythical game, which made the license known worldwide, is back with this new sci-fi action-adventure game!

After his victory over the ‘Master Brain’ in the first episode, Conrad and his allies are once again confronted with the Morphs, who threaten all civilizations.

Moreover, his friend Ian, who has answers to many of Conrad’s questions, has just been kidnapped in front of him… A trick of the Morphs? For what purpose? It’s up to you to find out…

Help him and his allies to solve this delicate and dangerous investigation through 5 levels full of action and shoot-outs and to fight the Morphs who are preparing a machiavellian plan for total control of the solar system…”

The original Flashback is one of the first games that explored the cinematic potential of gaming in general. The cutscenes were quite awesome for that time and the platforming part was top-notch. That’s hardly surprising, though, since the inspiration was the original Prince of Persia.

Flashback also had an HD reboot back in 2013, but that game didn’t impress people as much as the original, so here’s hoping the sequel will fare better.
