Bungie have just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion The Witch Queen ahead of release next month.

It’s the first time we have a proper look at the new destination (Savathûn’s Throne World), and as expected, it looks awesome. But don’t expect to have an easy time here, on the contrary! The whole place is described as a “twisted wonderland of corruption and splendor”, so you have a better indication of what to expect.

The Witch Queen is sending you a welcoming committee - You’ll be fighting against a brand new set of Hive enemies called Lucent Brood. They’re quite tough to beat since they are infused with the same Light that powers the Guardians. If you want to beat them smoothly, you will have to forge new weapons, including a brand new weapon type known as The Glaive.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen was initially supposed to launch back in August following a delay into early 2022. This will be the latest chapter in the game’s ongoing Light & Darkness storyline that will also continue in 2023 with Lightfall and wrap up in 2024 with The Final Shape. What a fitting name for the last chapter.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC on February 22.
