GSK Game World have announced that the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl has been pushed back into December.

The first-person post-apocalyptic shooter was originally scheduled for launch in April. But, a statement was posted on the game’s official Twitter channel confirming that the game will now arrive in December.

Here’s what the statement says: “These additional seven months of development are needed to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is the biggest project in the history of GSC, and it requires thorough testing and polishing. We are convinced that development should take as long as necessary, especially in the case of such a project. This decision is not an easy one, but we are doing the best possible to deliver you a game that can live up to the expectations.”

The team promises more information and updates in the upcoming year. Back in December, the team faced a small controversy regarding the proposed “STALKER Metaverse” that would feature NFTs. While not directly game-related, you would have the option to buy the potential to have your face scanned into the game and featured as an NPC. How awesome is that?

In any case, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S on December 8.
