Devolver Digital have just announced a delay for their upcoming action RPG Weird West and the release date has been pushed into March 2021.

The game was initially scheduled for release in January 2021. However, the team spotted some issues that caused them to delay the release into March. As they’ve said: “More time is needed to deliver an experience that the community expects from WolfEye and Devolver. The team understands that this might be a disappointment to folks, but want to ensure that the game they’ve worked on for years is launched in the best form possible.”

If you’re not familiar with the premise, Weird West is a mixture of the Western and supernatural anthology. You will be following five stories that include a gun-slinging clairvoyant & a cowboy who’s had his head swapped with a pig’s head. The game was first unveiled during The Game Awards in 2019.

The development team, WolfEye Studios, is headed up by former Arkane boss Raphael Colantonio. He shows up in a video apologizing for the delay, and you can see all of that (and more) down below. Meanwhile, Weird West is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 31, 2022. You’ll also be able to pick it up via Xbox Game Pass.
