Epic Games have announced that The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience will be revealed at the upcoming The Game Awards, but you can pre-download it already on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Based on the information we have at the moment, this is an Unreal Engine tech demo, but with a couple of twists. We know that the series’ director Lana Wachowski is involved in this game, and we know that both Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss will take the lead roles once again. The blurb says that we are in for “a wild ride into the reality-bending universe of The Matrix”.

The game was first unveiled last week after the official artwork appeared on the PlayStation Store. You can now pre-download it on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles before going live during The Game Awards on December 9. You can find out more on the official website.

Make sure you tune in on December 9 at 12:30 AM start time to watch the full show. But even if you miss it, we will have you covered, no worries. Make sure you check out the teaser while you're here:
