Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of the Halo series has announced that he will take charge of a new studio in Seattle for EA.

As GameIndustry.biz writes, the new outfit doesn’t have a name just yet, but it will apparently focus on creating first-person games. It will be the second new studio in the area EA have set up recently following the one led up by ex-Monolith head Kevin Stephens. We have no confirmation, but it’s believed that one will be going under the moniker Neon Black studios.

Lehto was previously the former president and game director at V1 Interactive that he co-founded with SOCOM co-creator Michael Gutmann. Their first and only game was a first-person shooter Disintegration, which shuttered its multiplayer just five months after launch. The studio then followed suit which resulted in its closure this March.

We are yet to see which projects Marcus Lehto’s new EA studio will be working on. He said he will share more on what he’s working on soon though, so we can only wait and hope for the best. We will keep you updated as we get more information from EA and Lehto himself.
