The director issued an open letter to fans to mark the game’s release. He thanked the fans for their continuous support and revealed that the game was initially going to be subtitled “No More Heroes 3 FINAL BOUT – All-Out Galactic War!”, but Grasshopper Manufacture decided to change it because it was too long.

Here’s he had to say: “As hinted at with the “Final” thing, Travis Touchdown will finally be coming to the end of his final battle, and will be embarking on a much-deserved, long journey. As one journey ends, the crimson bike falls into a deep sleep. Goodbye Travis. Goodbye, No More Heroes. Goodbye, fleeting moments and days. Farewell, to all Travis Touchdowns everywhere!”

The series kicked off with the first game, No More Heroes which launched in 2007 on the Wii with the follow-up No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle coming out in 2010. Both of these games were also ported to Nintendo Switch in October 2020.
