Headware Games and Ratalaika Games have announced that Chasing Static, a survival horror game inspired by classic PS1 and PS2 games in the same genre is coming out later this year.

The story is set in rural Wales and you will take the role of Chris Selwood, a man searching for shelter from the elements in a roadside café. All of a sudden, a vile force pins the waitress to the celling before putting him out of commission. He eventually comes round, but only to find the building in ruins and (seemingly) abandoned. Now it’s up to you to find out what the hell happened here.

During the game, you will come across an experimental “Frequency Displacement Monitoring Device” that you can use to pick up ghostly signals and tune them in. You can also use the device to explore the area, uncover different secrets, and listen to different audio logs along the way. You’ll also get to solve puzzles and uncover different aspects of the story. Definitely a game worth checking out.

Chasing Static is coming out in Q3 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can check out the trailer below:
