Square Enix have announced the launch date for the first three games in their Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series that see will the first six games in the super-popular RPG franchise getting a new, enhanced look on PC and mobile.

The company announced their intention to give Final Fantasy I – VI a visual make-up during the Square Enix Presents presentation on E3 last month. They’ve promised to stay true to the original while adding a bunch of new innovations (like modern creature comforts). The games will also feature background graphics and redrawn character graphics. The soundtracks are also rearranged and the controls are tweaked to accommodate a smoother experience. If that’s not enough you’ll have some sweet extras like music players and galleries, and you’ll also be able to save your progress at any point.

Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III are the first games to get a visual upgrade and they will be available on mobile and PC starting from July 28. Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI should follow soon thereafter.
